Alex's Poems

Where I'm From

I'm from
the sound of cars driving, honking, and screeching on the highway.
I'm from
reading a good book at 12:00 into 1:00 and past 4:00.
I'm from
the forest, creek, and animals out my back door.
I'm from
the smell of turkey, cranberry sauce, and grease coming from my over.
I'm from
oh no, sorry, and go away.
I'm from
broken arms, skinned knees, and dead friends and family.
I'm from
old pictures, dirty clothes, and food.
I'm from those moments. I'm from those memories. I am a
tune from my family song.
